Weekly Reading - Trust
11 You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Last week my brother and his wife had to drive a fair distance for him to participate in a job interview. They were
preparing to leave early in the morning, My brother tested the sat-nav device and it just would not work. Having not
been to the area they were going to and needing a map, he decided to print out a map to take with and off they went.
I received a phone call a few hour's later, it was them, they were lost. So whilst they were on the phone I looked
up their area on the internet and guided them verbally to their destination. I was constantly greeted with "Are you
sure that's the right way?" or "We were here earlier, it does not lead anywhere". They questioned my directions
constantly and simply would not believe i was directing them to their final destination.
It can be like that with us in our Christian lives. We constantly question what God is doing in our lives. Trusting
him is not something we excel at sometimes. I am certainly not a good map reader, and yet I was able to guide them
quite easily to their destination. God is infinite and he knows exactly each of our situations, so why do we doubt
how He cares for us or whether He will help us. Know that God will take care of us, don't doubt Him, He WILL take
care of you.
Proverbs 3:5
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
