Weekly Reading - Talking About Jesus
  • Colossians 1:27 (NIV):
27To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Whenever it comes to witnessing, there is a certain amount of worry involved. How will this person react? What if they never talk to me again? What if I come across in a judgmental way? We should never let these things stop us from sharing the Grace we have through Jesus our Saviour. Think about it this way; if you received a wonderful present for your birthday, something you've always wanted, do you put it in the back of your closet where it cannot be seen? Do you only take it out when you're all alone? Of course not, you want everyone to see it!

The same applies to our faith; however this was not just a gift for us. God offers this same precious gift to all who seek Him and believe in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus loved enough to die, not just for you, but for all. Whenever you feel afraid or worried about sharing your faith with a friend, think for a moment about the consequence of not sharing with that friend.

I'm always reminded of Stephen, with his last breath, he gave glory to God. There was no doubt where his heart lay. Can the same be said for you?
  • Acts 7:55 (NIV):
55But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
