

Ephesians 3:17-19
17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Service unto God should be the norm for all Christians. It should be our pattern of living, our sacrifice to God, our pleasing aroma to Him. Many of us like to live in our own way, only inviting God into the parts of our lives where he fits in. We dwell on our problems too long, we tend to see no further than our bank accounts with relentless repetition and we shun Christian duty in favour of other things. What a poor condition to find ourselves in; to be living as the world would have us live.
2 Timothy 1:7
7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
I used to live in such a condition, for many years in fact. But then God began to draw me out of that and showed me how I was living. I was not a member of any church back then, did not go to any services whatsoever. I considered myself a Christian, but the evidence of my Christianity was exceptionally contradictory to how I was living. I certainly had not recognised with much clarity that I needed a change. Change came swiftly though, before I knew it I had joined a church, was active in its membership and continue to be so. Most amazing of all, I actually enjoy it!
1 John 3:1
1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
We live in a world of sensory input, one which draws our gaze off our Captain far too regularly. There seems to exist, an untold fear amongst men that to follow Christ is to lose out on some greater thing. Is there any greater thing than the Holy Trinity? How we should be following Jesus! He has done so much for us, and he promises some great things to those who truly seek and follow him: fullness of life, peace and joy. Resolve to follow him with all your heart today.
John 14:27
27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
